I love udon noodles because of its soft and chewy texture. In this video, I sautee udon noodles with some shrimp and fresh vegetables and top it with a savory sauce.
Ingredients:
- Oodong noodles (4 cubes)
- Shrimp (1 lb, about 20 pieces)
- Snow peas (2 cups)
- Carrott (1/2 of one carrot, julienned)
- Broccoli (2 cups)
Can’t find udon noodles in your market, get it here:

Moon, this is one of my favorite dishes that I order in often. Thanks for posting the recipe so I can make it myself now. I had the vegetable and shrimp part figured out, but the sauce was a mystery to me, and I wasn’t sure what kind of noodles to get. Now all I will have to do is make a trip to the grocery next week for the right ingredients, and hope the shrimp makes it into the dish instead of my mouth. Can’t wait to make it.
Angie… What kind of restaurant do you order this dish, cause I have never seen Udon noodles made this way in a restaurant. I made it up myself! Would be curious to know!
Moon, I get it from a Chinese restaurant, and they probably aren’t udon noodles. They are just called shrimp and noodles, so if I can’t find the udon noodles here I’ll order them from the site you have up, plus any of the sauces I can’t find.
Do you make the steamed dumplings? I love those also, but don’t have a clue how to seal the dumplings. Or make the filling. The steaming I know how to do.
Yes, I have 2 dumpling recipes (links below). Just skip the pan fried part and you will get steamed dumplings!

Thanks Moon. I’m going to try them both. They look delicious.
Found everything at the grocery today. Hooray for me. I can make the Udon noodles now.
glad to hear that! I think you will like the texture of the noodles!
They are much better than the noodles I get from the delivery I get. Thanks so much for this recipe. Costs about 1/3 the price of delivery before the tip. Even when I eat half the shrimp before it hits the pan.
You’re welcome! I know what you’re saying about the shrimp, cause I’m the same way when I love something, it gets half eaten and then I’m not even hungry after it’s all cooked!!
