Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the Year of the Goat! In this video, I am joined by my special guest Mrs. Lam, who shows us her very delicious Chinese mung bean dumpling soup to celebrate the New Year!
Ingredients:
Dumpling skin
- White Sticky Rice powder (2 cups)
- Tapioca Starch (1 teaspoon)
- Hot water (3/4 cup)
- Sugar (1/2 teaspoon dissolved in water)
Dumpling filling:
- Mung beans (1/2 cup)
- Vegetable oil (3 teaspoons)
- Coconut milk (2 tablespoons)
- Water (1 inch above the mung beans)
- Vegetable oil (3 teaspoons)
- Sugar (1 teaspoon)
- Salt (1/4 teaspoon)
Broth:
- Water (3 cups)
- Palm Sugar (3 pieces) (substitute: Brown Sugar ½ cup)
- Ginger (3-4 inches)
