For Thanksgiving, if I do not like the turkey, I would eat the side dishes as my main course, but often I find that many side dishes have a lot dairy (cream or butter) in them. As I try to avoid dairy as much as possible in my gut friendly diet, I have created a vegan side dish with roasted mashed yams along with garlic, ginger, cashews and raisins — a hearty and satisfying vegan recipe.
