A number of years ago when I wanted to detox and cleanse my body because I was having a lot of gut issues, I started doing blended smoothies with fresh fruits and vegetables. Over the years, I discovered the healing powers of fresh fruits and vegetables to heal and sustain our bodies, so I share with you some of my favorite smoothies.

The only challenge regarding smoothies is mixing together ingredients that should not be combined as their pH levels are too different. This causes indigestion for a number of people and also contributes to poor nutritional absorption.
Two books I highly recommend that go over this issue are: “The Hay Diet” and “Edgar Cayce on Healing Foods”. The following recommended food combinations are acceptable:
1. Proteins and vegetables.
2. Vegetables and starches.
Do not mix proteins and starches as the pH is too different. This is the primary cause of indigestion.
Fruit is the same way as the pH is different and mixing various fruits together will cause indigestion too.

While I or anyone in my family have never had that issue, I am sure that it may be an issue for some people because yes PH levels are important, so thank you for bringing it to light.
