    I really enjoy your videos and I’m learning a lot about Feng Shui. I’ve also just recently began applying Buddhist practice and study in my life. I’m at a stage where I’m still discovering my own spirituality. Thank you for sharing!

    I’m a junior college student living in a single room in a shared apartment. My roommates are very dirty and messy in the shared living spaces and they leave the heat on very high so there’s probably bacteria everywhere. So, my room is my sanctuary. When I stress I tend to get very obsessive about organizing/where things are and cleanliness and colors (I just can’t put my finger on what’s bothering me most of the time). It can distract me from my studies and I gradually become more minimalistic as I feel too much “clutter” in my room(I don’t even have that many things.) It’s mostly irrational I think. Some of the feng shui tips have been somewhat helpful, but I wonder if you have any tips that might make my living space or my mentality better for studying. My room is small so I can’t really move furniture around.

      Chelsea… I hear you and understand. Neither having saw your room nor having met you, it is hard for me to tell you what may work for you. I agree with you, minimalism works great for me too, but the other important factor is color. If you want a calming and meditative mind, make sure the colors in your room — whether it’s the wall paint or furniture — make you feel at peace and calm. Lighter colors tend to make me feel calm, but pick the ones that make you feel peaceful.

      Also, lighting candles in the room also helps me along with Zen music that makes me feel at peace.

      Of course, practicing meditation is always great, but I think using the right colors along with the minimalist furniture can help. Let me know if this works for you!
